Opto Training seeks to enhance the knowledge and skill sets of learners’ by designing and delivering a wide range of learning programmes, which actively contribute to improving the success of an organisation.
We achieve this by working closely together with clients to identify the specific training needs of their workforce and then developing bespoke learning programmes to provide leaners with the relevant knowledge and skills to improve their working practice.
Equality and Diversity and the commitment to respect and value all individuals are core values underpinning our philosophy and approach and details of our Equality and Diversity policy can be found here.
Our ability to tailor learning programmes to meet the unique needs of a client is critical to improving the standard of the performance of their workforce. Optimising the knowledge and skill sets of learners is achieved by designing bespoke case studies and encouraging an active learning environment; which facilitates both the application of the theoretical component and practical aspects of the learning programme, in a safe learning environment.
The company has built a reputation for quality and integrity through delivering professional training to clients throughout the United Kingdom and also overseas, in both the public and private sectors. Our clients include both statutory and non-statutory agencies: Police, Fire and Rescue, Local Authorities, Safeguarding Boards, Local Government and a range of private companies. To ensure we provide a stimulating learning experience during our training delivery, the primary methodology we utilise is active learning. Learners are encouraged to work in small groups, debate, engage in case study & role-playing and take part in cooperative learning.
To help reduce abstractions from the workplace, we also specialise in creating modular learning programmes – which can include elements completed by distance learning. Where possible the courses and learning programmes are always linked to the relevant national occupational standards. All of our associate trainers have a good mix of vocational experience and academic expertise. They are supported, where relevant, by numerous subject matter experts from a variety of professional backgrounds, for example: Social Workers, Barristers, Psychologists, Telecoms network engineers etc… Most of these subject matter experts are still working in their chosen profession and have a registered business interest. This enables them to deliver training for us on a part time basis, which ensures we provide current, realistic and pragmatic training. Every associate trainer employed by us has a minimum of a level 3 training qualification i.e. Certificate in Education or an NVQ.
All the trainers and subject matter experts also have current appropriate security clearance. The trainers we have from a police background have experience in the following areas of investigation: major, serious and complex crime, cyber-crime, open source research, financial investigation, investigative interviewing, intelligence, telecoms, child abuse and safeguarding children, domestic abuse, protection of vulnerable adults, family liaison, serious sexual assault and rape.
